Daquise Montgomery currently serves as the Assistant Vice President of Human Resources at M&T Bank in the Greater Washington DC Area. Initiating her career in banking in 2011, Daquise has cultivated a wealth of expertise and progressive growth in various domains, including Human Resources, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Retail and Business Banking, Leadership Development, and Training. She has a dedicated commitment to fostering DEI, Leadership Development, Financial Literacy, and sustainability, impacting not just the local community but extending her influence more widely. At M&T, she serves as the President of the Greater Washington PRIDE Resource Group, National Co-Chair for PRIDE serving all the charters for the bank’s enterprise, Professional Development Chair for the African American Employee Resource Group, and leader on the DEI Connect Leadership team, as well as a mentor to multiple employees.
Daquise has embraced multiple leadership and service roles throughout her tenure in her professional career, taking on responsibilities as a board of director, board member, volunteer, mentor, and chair across a variety of organizations. She currently serves as the President for the DC Equality Chamber Foundation, Membership Steering committee with Alexander Chamber of Commerce where she was a recipient of the 2023 40 under 40 class and a graduate of her Leadership Development class of 2024, the DC Chamber of Commerce, and a board of director for Journey to Josiah, a nonprofit organization, among others. Additionally, she extends her expertise to non-profit and commercial enterprises alike. Hailing from Greenville, South Carolina, Daquise’s academic background includes studies in music from the SC Governor’s School for the Arts and Humanities, Liberal Arts and Music at the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University, as well as Music and English at the University of South Carolina in Columbia. She is currently completing her master’s degree in human resource strategic management, and is also gearing up to pursue a Doctor of Business Administration at Bellevue University in the spring of 2024. Beyond her corporate role, Daquise is passionate about music, singing, a professional flutist with the Capital City Symphony (DC) and Loudon Symphony Orchestra (VA), as well as imparting her musical knowledge as a flute instructor. Entrepreneurial in spirit, she has established a successful catering and event planning business, alongside indulging in wardrobe styling. Daquise also finds pleasure in traveling and remains actively involved in philanthropy and community service.
